VOX Project: the voice for youth silenced by sexual exploitation, trafficking and prostitution in America

THE HIDDEN ISSUE: In cities and towns throughout America, teen prostitution, child trafficking and sexual exploitation are making news headlines. Kids of every race and nationality and from every economic background are easy victims of pimps, recruiters and online predators. Shocking data from the National Incidence Studies of Missing, Abducted, Runaway and Throwaway Children estimates that nationally one out of every three runaways on the street will be lured toward prostitution or other forms of exploitation within 48 hours of leaving home—even kids as young as eleven. Yet the sexual exploitation of American children remains the most hidden form of child abuse in the US today.

THE NEXT BIG STEP: VOX Project is firing up a national awareness campaign to End Youth Sexual Exploitation, Prostitution and Trafficking in the US. We are committed to:

	Igniting concern & raising public awareness on a national level by giving voice to the hidden issue of child sexual exploitation and prostitution in US culture and bringing to light the complicated struggles and trauma exploited young people endure.
	Engaging survivors & other young people in the process of envisioning the world they want to live in, giving voice to the support they need to thrive, and informing media, public policy and cultural change so all kids can live safer, healthier lives.
	Educating, training & collaborating with youth groups, communities, business leaders, artists, non-governmental organizations, educators, social service providers, law enforcement and policy makers to formulate responsible, sustainable strategies to end child sexual exploitation.
	Researching & implementing survivor-informed, advocacy-driven and culturally conscious services for young people healing from the trauma of exploitation.
